Project - Location Based Analyser

LBA uses a low cost wireless sensor network, able to locate and track Bluetooth and WIFI devices used by many mobile phones. The system locates and tracks mobile phones on the premises and uses the data to answer these and other questions, providing business intelligence solutions at a fraction of current prices. The system can be deployed in both indoor and outdoor environments, and does NOT retrieve any data with which the phone's owner may be identified.

The technological problem that LBA is trying to solve is a "non-cooperative" system able to track people both in indoor and outdoor environments with sufficient accuracy, with no upper limit on the number of people present and tracked (i.e. crowds) and without interfering with the customer privacy. The project targets the evolving market of business intelligence that is based on location data. This market aims to provide businesses with intelligence and actionable information based on their customers' behavioral characteristics (in time and space). Businesses interested in improve their service may use this information to better understand their customers' needs, to monitor their quality of service and to increase the overall customers satisfaction, all aiming to increase overall sales.

Service requirements are similar for small businesses (where focus is mainly on analysis of the customers' "profiles") and for large businesses (where the focus is on optimizing the business's operation), as well as for some non-profit service providers (where the focus will be mainly on quality and efficiency of service provided). LBA will provide end to end solutions to all these markets, including both hardware and software.
